Nilsson initiated Hardanger Music Festival, and has been the festival artistic director since the beginning in 1996. He was a member, and concertmaster, of the Oslo Philarmonic Orchestra for nearly 30 years.

Maiko Nishino, classical ballet dancer
Japanese Nishino studied at The Royal Ballet School in London. She has been with The Norwegian National Ballet since 1996, where she was appointed soloist dancer in 2005.

Fourth generation manager of legendary Hotel Ullensvang Mr. Utne was
awarded Knight of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav in 2006 due to his life long commitment to tourism and efforts to promote Norway.

Yukiko Yanagi, classical ballet dancer
Yanagi is a very talented second year bachelor student of classical ballet at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. She won the second prize last year in " Ballet Competition for Youth" in Japan.

Chorus 80
Chorus 80 is a local mixed choir, with about 40 members from Ullensvang, conducted by Magnus Opedal.

Nordic Voices
Nordic Voices is a six voice a capella ensemble, particularly known for their interpretations of Early Music and contemporary music.

Oslo-Filharmonien
Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra is the country's leading orchestra, and has over the last four decades estabished itself as one of Europe's best symphonic orchestras. Chief conductor since 2006 is Jukka-Pekka Saraste.

Oslo Strykekvartett
Oslo String Quartet, one of Scandinavia's most sought after, performs not just music from the classical chamber repertoire, but also contemporary music. The quartet is very committed to the communication of music in new and exciting ways.

Ullensvang Skulemusikklag
Ullensvang School Band is where most of the local children first receive music training and experience. Conductor since 1973 is Torbjørn Dagestad.
